Movie review: WALL-E

WALL-E is a fun animated PG movie for all ages and is entertaining to all. WALL-E is a robot stuck on earth all by himself doing the only thing he knows how to which is compacting trash. Then out of space comes another robot called eve whose technology is far more improved then WALL-E. WALL-E thinks that she is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen, but Eve is on a mission to find any source of living activity on earth. When she does find what she needs she is taken back to space and WALL-E follows. On the ship there are many robots and all the people are controlled by them and are all overweight as they have never done anything by themselves in their lives as humans have been stuck in space for over 700 years. WALL-E and eve soon become fugitives so that they can save the plant life and the humans can return to earth.
I enjoyed this film I found the characters where adorable and well created and the animations were amazing. I recommend this film to everyone it’s a bunch of laughs and too cute to describe.

Driving

In the last holidays I got my drivers learners’ license finally as I could have got it over two years ago. The test was easy as I passed with flying colours getting all the questions right. Driving on the other hand is a totally different story. I have to learn a manual which is sooo much harder then an automatic. The first time I went driving mum took me out to the car park to teach me how to use the gears. My first attempt at trying to move I stalled luckily for me it was a wet rainy day and there was no one at the car park as I stalled quite a lot that day.
I have been out another couple of times since getting my license but I’m no where near good enough to go anywhere near the road as I have gotten the hang of the gears but completely fail at turning which is quite an important part you need to know how to do when driving any car. But the hardest thing when driving that I had to do was to do a hill start using the handbrake it took me about six or seven attempts before I finally did it. Now mum is sending me to a driving instructor because she is really funny when she was teaching me especially when she drove my brother’s car into a bush by accident. But overall driving is quite fun soon you all better watch out I will be on the road. Hahaha.

Shawshank Redemption

I enjoyed the film because the storyline and plot kept it interesting always capturing my attention. The ending I enjoyed most as it was very unexpected and went well with the plot after he spent 25 years digging through a wall so he could escape.
My favorite character in the film was Red played by Morgan Freeman who also narrated the movie. I really liked his voice it was so calm and easy to listen to and he spoke clearly that made me listen. He was a loyal character who kept his promises and was the wises and knew how to exploit the jail system so he could get things for him and other prisoners for a price of course.
The film has very many different emotions from happiness and sadness for example happiness where Andy the main character got beers for his co-workers in prison and they had a chance to feel like free normal men and sadness where one of the mean in prison kills himself after leaving prison as he cant survive in the outside world.
Overall I think that this film is one of the best films that I have ever seen and I do recommend that others should watch it.

Bored of sickness

I missed the whole first week of term, not because I was on a holiday but by the fact that I was sick. You practically die of boredom missing a whole week, not being able to talk to anyone or play any sport I was even deprived of asking my friends how there holidays were. While I was sick the only thing that I could do was lie on the couch and watch TV. During the week nothing is on only silly repeats or silly soaps that nobody likes so I had to watch my DVDs.
For once I thought that I would actually LOVE to be at school and do work but seen as I couldn’t even walk from one end of my house to another.
But finally know when I was enough I got to join society and man doe it feel good.

The adventures of Danielle and my sydney trip

I have had quiet and exciting holiday. This time while travelling to Sydney I was able to bring a friend. I was extremely excited.
I am quiet used to flying to Sydney it is practically my second home but this plane flight was dreadful. It was one of those really small planes three seats on each side, you felt every little air pocket and there was no room for your legs that I got a cramp.

As we arrived in Sydney we greeted my family. Danielle even got to meet my older sister and nephew who were flying that day back to Duebi.

On Tuesday we went into the centre of the city to the best place to go which Pitt Street mall. It has a four story supre. The shops seem to go on forever and ever making it easy to get lost. But after about an hour we only made it to two shops. Later on that day Dad took us all rock climbing. Danielle and I had to hold each other using the ropes so pretty much our whole lives depended on one another. I made it to the top on a few climbs but only on the small ones. Its not that I am afraid of heights its just the what if. What if my harness breaks or the rope snaps.

On Thursday we went to the one and only Bondi junction. A five floor mall, now that’s what I am talking about. We spent about 3 hours shopping there and made it into three shops. After that we went to my all time fav cafĂ© Onex. We managed to eat a whole wrap in about 5mins making us feel sick just before we had to leave. Later on that day we went to the bowling alley. The first game dad won but I won the next. We are just a tad bit competitive. So Danielle ended up having a competition with Genevieve my little sister. Gen even managed to bowl the ball let is bounce and get stuck in the gutter between the bumpers. We ended up playing on the arcade games there and I introduced Danielle to my child hood favorite game. When the crocs come out you whack them with a batten. I played the basketball shot game. So did Gen who couldn’t even get the ball into the cage.
Later on that night we all went to see the opening at the local cinema for the movie Mamma Mia which I must say if an awesome movie apart from the fact that pierce Brosmen sings, ew it was just too weird.

Friday was one of the best days. More shopping. And then lunch in Darling Harbour. I choose the restaurant and I was applauded for my good pick of a Thai restaurant. We took a few photos there and then went home to get ready for the NRL.
It was so cold that night I had 5 layers on, a scarf and a beanie and it was still kind of chill.
The NRL was really exciting it was the roosters playing the titans. We were in the roosters stand with everyone wearing the roosters scarf’s and jackets. During the game the titans started to lead the game. Within the stand there was always a random titans support. One man tried to throw beer at a supporter missing and hitting everyone around him. Behind me and Danielle there were a bunch of twenty something guys getting drunk and yelling the most pathetic and lame as insults towards the titans. “good on ya jetstar” or “go fly on jetstar” errr they were lame they were even saying things like that wouldn’t happen if it was union, well can I tell you something mate it isn’t union. I don’t think I would have liked to be the referee he was swore at, booed at and had to be helped out of the stadium by the police as the roosters supporters were blaming him for there loss. But Danielle and I were secretly cheering for the titans. But the whole night was a fun experience.

On Sunday dad took me and Danielle to the IMAX theater. It was unbelievable. We saw dolphins and whales in 3D. they were literally swimming towards your face. When the movie was over we went over to china town where we took photos in the Asian photo booths before we then went into the markets and bought a few shirts.
Earlier that day we went out for breakfast at Bondi beach and then to the markets where we bought some cool as necklaces.

The following day we went and stayed at my Granddads where I bought myself a few DVD movies. And my family came over for dinner. Then we went over the my uncles and played a few games and played with the dog before we went back to my dads. There was abit of a mix up for where we were meant to meet but luckily I got my ball shoes.

When it was time to leave I needed another bag as I had just a few more things then what I came with. But dad was very kind and gave me a phone. It is so incredibly cool and is the best phone I have ever laid my eyes on.

The plane ride back was almost empty but the guy sitting two rows behind us had an allergic reaction to some of the food which we both didn’t eat as it looked gross. But when the flight landed the paramedics had to come on before we were aloud to leave.
The holiday all and all was really fun but it was nice to be home to see my mum and sleep in my own bed.

Essay-rising cost affecting teenagers

The rising cost of living is affecting the teenagers today. Because of the rising costs students struggle with independence, teenagers are unable to afford luxuries or socials outings and the cost of school and the costs of sporting and schoolings become unplayable.

Everybody wants independence whether you are a young adult or and eighty year old man. When a teenager becomes mentally old enough to leave home the rising costs make this hard to do so. The price of food has increased so much that to buy just the necessary food like bread, cheese and milk and cost you up to around twenty dollars, which is barely a meal.
The price of living in a home by yourself is horrific. To run a household a person must play for the increase in taxes, rising food bills and the even more expensive, the electricity bill.
So therefore when I teenager finally wants to break free and live in freedom they are unable to do so.

Teenagers have to work long hard hours because of minimum wage. For a student to now buy a one scoop piece of ice-cream it shall cost around $3 so they then have to choose an ice block at the corner dairy. The rising prices are making an everyday social life a lot more expensive. Even the local pool has gone up in price. To pay for a social life people will have to work longer hours, which may not be available and this could be a problem if the teenagers are at university or high school.

Do you want and education? Most will say yes. Because of the amount everyone is spending on their bills less money is being spent towards schools. Therefore this is making the schools and education be put last. The costs of playing at a sports centre has gone up to match the economy’s prices. Without sports New Zealand will have less healthy teenagers and obesity will become an even bigger issue.

All the rising prices are affecting the youth. When will these increases in prices stop or will they continue to rise to so that only the wealthy can do as they please. The rising prices does not benefit anyone else but those who are selling or advertising it. The Government should stop this to help our teenagers.
